Minimum Wage in Maldives
Ministry of Economic Development established minimum wage in the Maldives with reference to policy no: 2/2008 (employment act) section 59: order establishing minimum wage or remuneration.
The minimum wage is effective from 1st January 2022 and is implemented based on business classification.
Minimum wage for the Private Sector is categorized and set as follows:

Minimum Wage for foreign workers, board has asked for furthermore 3 years extension on current moratorium. Board will carry out surveys in this period to implement minimum wage for foreign workers.
